The Curse of the Early Adopters
(This will only really make sense to Australians - or non-Australians with a very keen sense of weather patterns)
I rushed out to buy Tiger, the new version of Mac OS X last night and installed it as soon as I got home. One of the new features I was looking forward to was Dashboard, the widget framework based on Konfabulator which I'd been using recently. In particular, I'd taken a shine to the weather forecast widget in Konfabulator and knew Dashboard had an equivalent.
Imagine my surprise then when I saw the forecast weather in my home town Melbourne, and that of my previous home town, Brisbane, some 2000Km closer to the equator!

I had a silimar problem getting it to recognise Ipswich (UK) – I think it was trying to use the Australian one.
The solution turned out to be to enter a partial name (eg "Ipswi"), then pick "Ipswich (United Kingdom)" from the resulting drop-down list.
Not the best UI Apple have ever come up with, it has to be said, but at least they've fixed 10.2/10.3's crappy password change behaviour in System Preferences.
