Oh, you mean that Melbourne!
Further to my previous blog, much kudos to Simon Harris who was also struggling to get the Dashboard weather widget to recognize Australian cities straight out-of-the-box, but who persevered to a solution. Must say, I prefer the Konfabulator version of this widget which displays the country as well as the place name.
Given his findings, perhaps the Brisbane that was being reported was this one.

People outside of the U.S. care about the weather? Wait a second, I didn't even realize that there are people who live outside of America? My god, this planet is bigger than I have ever imagined!

Recall CNNNN a year back in USA asking Americans to find their country on the map, which proved quite difficult for many. Needless to say when shown a map of Australia with the label Iraq on it the Americans interviewed quickly concurred that was the place of the Gulf Wars..
Also reminds me of a friend who worked in shipping, whose American colleague had shipped several large containers to London South Africa, as opposed to London UK where the trade show was. Three months after the Trade show ended the containers landed at UK Docks...
