"Give a man a fish, feed him for a day
... Teach a QA person basic SQL, they'll not bother me for a lifetime". I hope.

Don't do it! Now they'll just keep coming back asking more and more sql questions.
What you really need to do is tell them that you don't have time to waste on simple, pitty little problems.
Then clean your hands with hand-sanitizer (if you actually had to touch them) and close the door.

Nitpick. You probably mean "tester".

Yep, thers's nothing like a bunch of testers with strong SQL skills.
Soon enough they neglect to use the UI of your app to enter data, preferring to go direct via SQL.
You then end up fielding bug reports caused by completely invalid, cludged, test data. Nasty.

Yeah, i've experienced the 'QA manipulated database' first hand. Less than fun.
